A neighbor's notebook of Starkville, Mississippi — where to eat, where to shop, where to play, and the small back‑road detours worth the drive. Compiled with love by Travis & Julie at The Wremy House.
Editor's Note
Welcome,
neighbor.
Starkville is the kind of college town where game‑day traffic is a parade, the coffee shop knows your name by Tuesday, and dinner reservations double as a social calendar. Whether you've come for a wedding, a graduation, or a Saturday in Davis Wade, here's where the locals point you.
Highway 12 runs east to west and stitches the practical errands together. Main Street is for the slow walk — food, shops, a little eavesdropping. The Cotton District is the social heart after dark. The University sits to the east, the gravity well that quietly orders everything else.

Main Street stays walkable, the boutiques rotate seasonally, and the college‑town fashion runs heavier on maroon than you'd expect. Start at House of Colour if you've never had your colors done — Julie runs it.
